Cornell University

B.A., 2017

I graduated summa cum laude in 2017 as a College Scholar in Cognitive Science. My capstone honors project was supervised by Barbara Finlay, James Cutting, and Laurent Dubreuil. I’ve done research with each of my advisors, including thesis work on the history and philosophy of cognitive science with Prof. Finlay, work on social perception in Prof. Cutting’s lab, and helping Prof. Dubreuil with his book with Sue Savage-Rumbaugh, Dialogues on the Human Ape.

I was admitted to the College of Arts & Sciences as a Tanner Dean’s Scholar, and conducted research with the support of a Rawlings Presidential Research Scholarship.

Throughout my time at Cornell, I lived at the Telluride House, a self-governing community which offers a full room-and-board scholarship to undergraduate, graduate students, and faculty.

I was inducted into Phi Betta Kappa as a senior, and was co-awarded the Cornell Chapter’s first Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship Prize.

During my time at Cornell, I served on the student assembly, co-founded and led Splash! at Cornell, worked on the synthetic biology team, debated with the parliamentary team, chaired on our Model UN team, and volunteered as a TA for the Cornell Prison Education Program.

For work, I was a student assistant on the arXiv, collectively screening metadata for more than a hundred thousand articles, among other archival work at the Cornell Libraries. I also led discussions for Sprocket, the Cognitive Science Program’s film series.
